Gaming and sneakers meet again in an exciting collaboration between Puma and Japanese video games developer and publisher Square Enix. The Final Fantasy XIV x Puma collection consists of 4 sneakers inspired by the video game. Although it faced a rocky release, Final Fantasy XIV grew to become one of the most popular games of all time, thus no wonder it caught the attention of German sportswear. The collection consists of two designs, Slipstream and RS-X that come in two colorways each, a light one dressed in white with blue and green accents and a dark one, dressed in black and cold tones.
The Final Fantasy XIV x Puma RS-X 'Black' features an intriguing design, dressed in a black and purple hues colour scheme. The upper comes dressed in a black mesh base with 'Purple Charcoal' leather overlays and additional grey patches around the toe box. The classic 'Formstrip' logo comes in a minimalist design, simply outlined by thin grey stripes. 'Electric Orchid' used for the sock liner is also featured on the co-branded elements on the tongue tag and insole. The midsole of the sneaker is dressed in black, accessorised with grey parts on the front foot and purple on the back. The rubber outsole comes in an abstract design in black and purple, keeping the consistency of the colour theme.
