deadHYPE x adidas ZX 8000: Minimalism meets art
For the 'D' of their A-ZX series, the brand with the three stripes has now brought the creative collective deadHYPE on board. If you want to have a look at an overview of the A-ZX series, click here! deadHYPE are based in Berlin. They run a radio and promote a community, all under the roof of the underground music scene. The creative agency has given the new adidas ZX 8000 its own style, giving us all a space for creativity, too.
Visually, the colorway is naturally striking at first glance. Various shades of purple decorate the upper, which is made of canvas and rounded off with nubuk overlays. The TPU elements on the heel are also a must. Already at the second glance I would say, it is immediately noticeable that the three stripes are missing. At this point deadHYPE and adidas have decided on an open space and thus give us a free space for our own inspiration.
D as in deadHYPE or: damn good!
In general, the style does not need much frills and is a very round look. We also look in vain for the usual branding elements. Neither on the tongue nor anywhere else have deadHYPE or adidas clearly immortalised themselves. On the side of the sneakers we only find a light embroidery. Minimalist, but still so special - that's really a good job that deadHYPE x adidas have done on their ZX 8000.
The inspiration for the sneaker comes from an army training shoe from the 80s. Functionally, the ZX naturally has a lot of traditional comfort to offer. The former sport silhouette comes with good cushioning, a comfortable fit on the foot and the Torsion System. We are already familiar with this from the ZX family: it provides optimum freedom of movement between the back and forefoot.
To make sure you don't miss the release, here is again a quick overview of all data: The extraordinary sneaker will be released on September 18th, 2020 at 10:00 am, for 120€. You can get a list of all retailers by clicking on the button and there you can also set up a release alert on our website:
