Beginning of the AF1
The Nike Air Force 1 debuted in 1982 as a basketball shoe. The sneaker was designed by Bruce Kilgore. The AF1 was the first basketball shoe to feature Nike Air Technology.
The sneaker was also offered in a 'Low' version a year later. Nike almost wanted to stop the production of the Air Force, but people from Baltimore were too enthusiastic about the model and increased its popularity, so production continued.
After many released colourways, the model was finally offered in women's sizes in 2001. Since then, the popularity of the Air Force 1 has only increased and it is now one of the most popular basic sneakers.

The Air Force 1 has had countless variations in colour and design. The Nike WMNS Air Force 1 07 Essential has stayed classic, by adding the white leather base to the design. The look has been kept very clean, but some nice details have been added.
The heel of the sneaker, the swooshes and the logo on the tongue have been given a black colour. The swooshes and the heel are also made of leather, which gives the shoe a luxurious look. Furthermore, all Nike logos have been given a golden colour. The mini swoosh on the side is also gold coloured. To finish the look, there is also a golden detail with "AF1" between the laces.
