Off-White and Zellerfeld 3D-Print the Arrows Teaser Slide

Off-White and Zellerfeld 3D-Print the Arrows Teaser Slide

No mould, no sewing machine, no assembly line. The Off-White Zellerfeld slide comes out of the printer in a single piece. For the first time, the Milan label is teaming up with the Hamburg-based 3D-printing specialist, and the result is a striking piece of footwear. The Off-White Zellerfeld slide goes by the name Arrows Teaser.

Zellerfeld prints the slide in its own Zellerfoam, which the brand describes as breathable and reusable. The printing process leaves a checkerboard texture on the surface. It happens to line up neatly with the racing-flag aesthetic Off-White has played with for years. A series of arrows runs along the sides. Fitting, given the name.

The Off-White Zellerfeld slide comes in five colorways: Lilac, Black, Oat, Stone and Yellow. Oat is done in a single shade from top to sole. Orders go through Zellerfeld itself.

Who is behind Zellerfeld?

Zellerfeld started as a student project by Cornelius Schmitt and takes its name from Clausthal-Zellerfeld, the German town where he studied. Today, more than two hundred printers run in Hamburg, and the company has a second site in Austin, Texas.

The technique is as simple as it is clever. Every shoe is built from one continuous thread, laid down more densely or loosely depending on the zone. That creates firm and flexible areas in a single piece. Because only one material is used, Zellerfeld calls its shoes recyclable.

Zellerfeld also works as a platform for designers. Earlier releases include models with Heron Preston, and together with Nike the brand developed the Air Max 1000. You can even build the latest version yourself, although for now only in the US. Read all about the Air Max 1000.3 By You.

For Off-White, the collaboration fits a wider direction. The label, now owned by Bluestar Alliance, is bringing in outside creators more often, as with the recent 10×10 project. With the Off-White Zellerfeld slide, that openness now extends to the production technique itself.
