The Nike Air Force 1 is set to embark on a completely new chapter in 2026. For the first time ever, Nike SB is releasing an official skate version of the silhouette, a move that is bound to get both skaters and sneakerheads excited.
A New Chapter for the Nike Air Force 1
Although the Air Force 1 has been a staple within skate culture for decades, a dedicated SB variant has been notably absent until now. With the introduction of the Nike SB Air Force 1, Nike is merging an iconic model with high-level performance. While the shoe retains its world-renowned shape, it has been completely overhauled to withstand the rigorous demands of skateboarding.

Think along the lines of a modified sole for enhanced boardfeel, additional cushioning in the heel, and a revamped tread pattern for optimal grip. Both the tongue and collar have been treated to extra padding and internal support, ensuring the shoe stays locked in during the most technical skate tricks.
Debut Colorway: ‘Light Orewood Brown’
The debut ‘Light Orewood Brown’ colorway opts for a calm, vintage-inspired aesthetic. The upper consists of premium suede in a soft beige hue, complemented by subtle pink accents. A crisp white midsole and a classic gum outsole round off the design, providing that timeless skate look.

What immediately stands out is the balance between lifestyle and functionality. While the original AF1 is primarily known as a streetwear essential, this SB version feels distinctly more "ready-to-skate" without sacrificing the integrity of the original silhouette.
A New Direction for Nike SB
Following successful projects involving SB iterations of other classics, such as the Blazer, Air Max 95, and the Dunk, Nike is proving once again that it isn't afraid to reinterpret its most iconic models.

The Nike SB Air Force 1 feels like a natural evolution, but also a significant one. This model merges over 40 years of heritage with modern skate technology, opening the door for a wave of new colorways and high-profile collaborations in the years to come.
