Not every Air Max became a classic. After its debut, the Air Max 2000 quietly slipped out of sight. Now it returns as the Nike Air Max Ecstasy Plus, with an exclusive QS version at size?. The Nike Air Max Ecstasy Plus 'Desert Khaki' arrives on Friday 6 November 2026. Here's what you need to know about the design and the release.

The model was born around the turn of the millennium within the Alpha Project, the experimental line Nike used to push the limits of performance footwear. The same project produced the Air Presto and the Air Kukini, recognisable by the five-dot logo.
Where the Air Max 1, 95 and 97 grew into household names, the Air Max 2000 remained mostly a shoe for those in the know. In the summer of 2026, Supreme already brought the silhouette back in a collaboration. Now Nike itself is reintroducing the model, under a new name.
How the design comes together
In terms of construction, the Air Max Ecstasy Plus stays close to the original. The silhouette has a low profile, with a knit mesh upper, horizontal TPU strips across the side, a ribbed line along the top and a reinforced toe.
On the size? version in Desert Khaki/Metallic Gold/Geode Teal/Black (style code IV7022-200), the mesh comes in desert khaki. Five TPU stripes on the side panel fade from metallic gold to geode teal. Sculpted grooves in between give the design a sense of movement.
The tongue, collar and laces are black, as is the small Swoosh on the toe. A lace cover and a TPU toe bumper finish off the front.
Underfoot, it's all about Air. A full-length Max Air unit runs the entire length of the sole and is visible at the heel. The desert khaki midsole sits on a black BRS-1000 carbon rubber outsole, creating a clear contrast.

There is a nod to the original on the inside too: the sockliner and midsole carry Alpha Project details.
This Nike Air Max Ecstasy Plus is a QS version. QS stands for Quickstrike, Nike's label for limited releases that only appear at selected retailers. In this case that means size? exclusively, and according to the retailer the run is 300 pairs.
Sales run via a raffle at size?. The release follows on Friday 6 November 2026 and the price is €180. Want a shot at a pair? Enter before the raffle closes.
With the Nike Air Max Ecstasy Plus, Nike brings back a lesser-known chapter of Air Max history, in a colour scheme that clearly shows the model's Y2K roots.
