In October 2023, news broke that American rapper A$AP Rocky has taken a remarkable step in his career. The 'Praise the Lord' artist now holds the position of creative director for the new collaboration between PUMA and Formula 1. A month later, in November 2023, PUMA offers us a detailed look at the first collection of this collaboration, which will be available during the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
PUMA x Formula 1
Earlier this year, in May 2023, PUMA announced that it has entered into a long-term partnership with Formula 1. With this, PUMA is now the exclusive supplier of official Formula 1 apparel, shoes and accessories for both on and off the track. Read more about the partnership here!
A$AP Rocky
PUMA, however, had bigger plans than just racing fashion. They wanted to connect the world of Formula 1 with streetwear and capture the hearts of fans. Therefore, the German brand appointed A$AP Rocky as creative director. Rocky will lead this collaboration by designing collections to be sold on race days.
A$AP Rocky himself is very excited about this new challenge: “Working with brands as iconic as PUMA, and as innovative as F1, has been truly inspiring,” he says about the collaboration. “When the world sees what were doing, I believe a shift will happen with how brand’s approach taking risks and working with diverse creatives.”
Las Vegas Grand Prix
A$AP Rocky's first PUMA x Formula One collection will be launched at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in November 2023. On Nov. 17, 2023, several items will also be available for sale on PUMA's website.
The upcoming collection combines fashion, streetwear and elements of motorsports. We see items such as longsleeve t-shirts with removable racing gloves, shorts with a removable apron, jeans with built-in knee protection, weathered caps and balaclavas.
This limited edition collection of clothing and accessories serves as a preview of things to come.
