Southern California fashion label Basketcase is releasing its New Balance 204L ‘Pine Valley’ collaboration. The sneaker previously debuted in Pine Valley, California, the brand’s hometown, during a car park release for residents. Now, the sneaker is set to arrive at retailers as well.
For those unfamiliar with Basketcase, here’s a brief introduction. Basketcase is a South California–based label founded by Zach Kinninger and is known for its bold designs with an authentic, almost rebellious aesthetic, a style that clearly resonated with New Balance.
The collaboration was first spotted last summer and follows an earlier friends & family grey edition that released earlier this year. The ‘Pine Valley’ colorway is crafted in dark brown suede and accented with a green “N” logo and hiking-inspired lace loops.
The colorway nods to the classic ‘beef & broccoli’ palette, a well-known look within the sneaker world. Basketcase adds fuzzy blue laces for a playful and fresh touch.
