Introducing the New Balance 610T
Besides New Balance's many classic silhouettes, like the 574, 550 and the iconic 990 series, the sneaker brand introduced a new silhouette in 2012; the 610. The model took inspiration from silhouettes from New Balance's archives and gave them a modern twist. The design did not immediately catch on with the general public, partly due to the subdued colorways used on the design.
The New Balance 610 disappeared from the radar for several years, giving way to models like the 510 and 574. In 2022, New Balance came out with the 610T - an updated variant of the sneaker. Unlike the previous releases, these colorways did use bold colours that matched the upper all too well.
Since the introduction of the New Balance 610T, the model has been released in several colorways. With an outdoor look, the sneakers often appear in shades of green. The silhouette has also been used in collaborations with rapper Aminé, Joe Freshgoods and sneaker boutique Bodega.
Besides the collaborations just mentioned, regular releases are also doing well. Now, in 2024, the silhouette also fits in perfectly with the current outdoor and gorpcore trend we see on on the streets.
