It seems that the lines between Nike’s main collections and its sublabels are blurring more and more with each season. From the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 crossover to the recent EKIN x Air Jordan collab, wherever a crossover is possible, it gets made.
The next in line is an ACG x Air Jordan 3.
ACG and Jordan Brand
The ACG line, short for All Conditions Gear, is perhaps one of the strongest lines in Nike’s repertoire. The sublabel, founded in 1989, focuses on technical and functional designs built to withstand all kinds of weather.
Over the past decades, the line has been responsible for some of its most standout releases, including the iconic ACG Inflatable Jacket from 2008. Now, the sublabel joins forces with Jordan Brand, another groundbreaking label under the Nike umbrella.
The Air Jordan 3 retains the classic DNA of the model, with an off-white suede upper and the signature grey elephant print. The execution, however, is unmistakably ACG. The sneaker features earthy tones combined with striking pink, orange, and yellow accents, the recognizable color palette of the ACG line.
In addition, the release comes with functional and technical details, such as the use of ripstop material on the collar and eyestays. A rugged gum outsole provides extra grip in harsh weather conditions. The insoles feature “AC3,” a nod to the collaboration between the two labels.
Release or not?
For now, it appears this is a sample, and there won’t be a general release, although I secretly hope there will be. Check out the first images below and keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates regarding this release.
