Vans is expanding the Vans Old Skool 36 Pearlized with a run of fall colorways. The Vans Old Skool 36 Pearlized pairs a distressed upper with pearl and crystal detailing, and rolls out in stores from 10 September. A premium take on a familiar silhouette, spread across several drops.
The first drop features the Yacht Club colorway alongside a restock of the earlier Marshmallow. The rest follows through fall and winter. Lime Pop is set for 12 November, Navy for 19 November and Black/Marshmallow for 27 November. The series closes on 10 December with a red version. Six colors in total, spread over four months.
The model builds on the Style 36, which debuted in 1977 as the brand's second skate shoe and became known as the Old Skool in the early 1990s. Where the original was purely functional, this version leans into detail. Think a high-gloss sidewall, fine stitching and the familiar Sidestripe. The upper is worked into a look that seems worn for years.
Pearls on a worn look
That weathered finish is deliberate, as if the shoe has been reworked and rebuilt over time. The pearls and crystals set a contrast against it. A striking choice for a silhouette that usually stays understated, and one that clearly pushes the Old Skool 36 Pearlized toward the premium segment.

Vans might actually be turning into brand of the year. And with restocks like this they keep the momentum going. Hopefully it lasts a while longer!
