Munich-based label amulet and OTW by Vans have teamed up on the amulet x Vans Authentic. Corduroy, forest-green suede and soft pink accents give the classic skate shoe a calm, nature-inspired look. The amulet x Vans Authentic arrives on 5 November 2026, although it launches as a Friends & Family release.

amulet is not your typical sneaker label. It started in Munich in 2025 as a café and independent design label, with a love for tactile textiles, archival references and understated details made to last. OTW by Vans is the platform where Vans releases progressive silhouettes and collaborations, at the crossroads of skateboarding, art and fashion. Together, they start from one feeling: the quiet urge to leave the familiar behind and head out into nature. An antidote to everyday noise, as the brands put it themselves.

Choosing the Authentic makes sense. The model debuted in 1966 as Style #44 and was the very first shoe the Van Doren family sold in their store in Anaheim. Its simple silhouette with a canvas upper and vulcanised waffle sole later became a staple of skate culture. That simplicity is exactly what makes the Authentic a great canvas for a label built around materials and details.
Corduroy, suede and a touch of pink
The nature theme shows straight away in the upper of the amulet x Vans Authentic. Deep chocolate-brown corduroy covers the quarters, framed by a contrasting off-white heel counter and clean white stitching. The toe box is made of forest-green suede, embossed with droplet and moss textures inspired by a damp woodland floor.

Soft pink details break up the earthy palette. You'll find them on the outsole foxing stripe, the lace aglets and the insole, which carries the signature amulet eye. You also get a choice of laces: a patterned outdoor rope lace and a classic flat brown cotton lace. That way, you decide whether to go for a more rugged or a cleaner look.

The packaging is a story of its own. The collaboration revives one of the original single-sheet cardboard shoeboxes from the late seventies. The diagonal stripe pattern of Van Doren's 'Customade for YOU' box swaps its vintage blue for pale pink and off-white tones. A neat nod to the early days of Vans.

For the campaign, Alexander Witzinger photographed model Conny Mirbach, with graphics by Dakota Zubeck. Jake Mednik led the project for Vans.

The launch is set for Thursday 5 November 2026 at 10:00 PM CET. According to the press release, it is a strictly limited Friends & Family release. The brands are leaving the door open for a wider release, but that has not been confirmed. A retail price in euros has not been announced yet. Want an Authentic on your feet in the meantime?
