Nike's Retro LD- 1000 Gets a Lace Makeover

Nike has just unveiled a fresh take on the 1970s silhouette, the LD-1000, in a delicate 'Soft Pearl' and lace-inspired colorway, as a women's exclusive. The LD-1000 was originally released in 1977 as a performance running shoe. Now it's making a comeback, returning in 2025 as part of Nike’s evolving legacy in both sport and style.

This edition brings delicate and feminine energy, debuting the 'Soft Pearl' colorway.

The model is designed with delicate lace overlays and a unique lace charm at the toe box, adding a soft and feminine feel. The jacquard upper in soft pearl complements light bone suede accents on the eyelets, toebox, and heel, creating a clean, minimalist aesthetic. A beige midsole paired with Nike’s iconic Waffle outsole provides classic traction and durability.

The overall design pays tribute to the sneaker’s heritage while offering a modern, versatile update, making it perfect for summer. Visually, the silhouette is reminiscent of the Nike Cortez. However, it sets itself apart with the standout waffle outsole, originally developed to give runners superior grip and performance.

The Nike LD-1000 'Soft Pearl' will be released this Summer 2025 at Nike and select retailers.

In the meantime, be sure to follow the Sneakerjagers release calendar for updates on releases.
