Some sneakers need no introduction. The white, red and blue Nike Cortez from the classic ‘Forrest Gump’ is one such pair. Thanks to Tom Hanks, who plays the eponymous character in the film, this colourway grew into a classic. Thanks in part to the scenes in which Hanks is seen running in the Cortez.
Nike is now giving this look a new stage, this time on the Pegasus Premium.
Film classic
The Pegasus Premium ‘Forrest Gump’ leaves little to chance when it comes to recognition. The upper comes in breathable white mesh, the Swoosh is bright red, and the blue accents on the midsole instantly bring back the Cortez vibes.
The sneaker is a subtle nod to the 70s, but in a style perfectly suited to 2025.

What started as a standard colour has now become a fixture on countless Nike models, such as Devin Booker's Nike Book 1. And Nike wouldn't be Nike without extra details. On the medial side of the ripstop nylon eyelets, you'll find coordinates pointing to where it all began: the first Blue Ribbon Sports shop in Santa Monica.

While the looks are nostalgic, the technology is anything but. The Pegasus Premium has ZoomX foam, ReactX cushioning, and a full-length Air Zoom unit.
