Nubikk Sneakers
When you think of sneakers, you might not immediately think of the brand Nubikk. Yet Nubikk is a big name in the world of luxury sneakers, but with affordable prices.
The adventure of Nubikk started in 2012 when founders Daan Baeten and René Chabot came up with the great idea to design and create a shoe collection in which comfort, fashion and distinctiveness are central. Shoes should not only look beautiful for the outside world, they should also sit wonderfully on the foot so that you can walk on them for hours.
The name Nubikk is, as you might be able to tell from the name, derived from the name of the leather type Nubuck. This material is known for its velvety appearance, which is created by lightly working the top of the leather by sanding it. Nubuck is very similar to suede but that material is created by using the inside of leather. With several generations of shoemakers within the company, Nubikk always manages to create versatile collections with various styles for both men and women in all age groups. Nubikk does not have a specific target group because they do not want to pigeonhole their customers. Someone who likes Nubikk shoes doesn't have to worry about whether he or she falls within the target group. There is no age limit for wearing fashion.
Initially, Nubikk started developing women's boots, but soon sneakers were added for both women and men. An interesting fact about Nubikk is that they work according to the Friends only concept. This means that they first have the shoes developed in the sizes of friends and family so that Nubikk can test whether the looks of the shoes are approved, but mainly also to assess whether they are comfortable. The founders came up with this concept because friends and family members often indicated that they were having increasing difficulty finding cool shoes at acceptable prices.
Since its launch in 2012, Nubikk has rapidly conquered the global shoe market. With shoes that are known for a luxurious look and feel, yet are comfortable to wear and affordable, Nubikk is sold in many different countries. The company soon noticed that their customers needed the same feeling as with sporting goods. In order to best meet the needs of their customers, Nubikk started producing shoes with only lightweight soles for all collections. Nubikk sneakers are designed in the Netherlands and then handmade in Portugal with materials that come from other parts of Europe. The soles, the high quality leather and the luxury accessories are imported from Italy.
The inspiration for new collections is found in many different places. Whether the founders are simply walking down the street in Amsterdam, travelling or attending a fashion show and see something interesting on the catwalk, there is always a detail they can work with. Nubikk knows how to experiment a lot with colours and patterns. Often we see soft and basic colours like white, black, beige and grey, but Nubikk also adds some lovely bright colours to their collection like fluorescent green or small details of red or orange. Besides colour, Nubikk also knows how to use patterns, especially animal prints. We see zebra prints on several Nubikk models, but also snake and crocodile prints are often seen.
Nubikk has released many different sneaker models over the years, including the Lucy, Yeye, Yucca and the Jagger. Each model has its own striking details such as a lovely colour accent, a bulky sole or for example a detail at the lacing. Because of the many experiences with leather craftsmanship, Nubikk decided to design and market not only shoes, but also bags, accessories and clothing. This way, you, as a fan of Nubikk, can create a completely matching and fashionable outfit that is also wonderfully comfortable.
Nubikk has managed to put itself on the market, which is why they are sold in many different shops, both in our own country, the Netherlands, and in the rest of Europe and even beyond. Nubikk can be found, for example, in Germany, Belgium and Denmark, but also in the United Kingdom, the United States and even in the famous city of Osaka in Japan.
