The Air Max 97 will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2022. The sneaker is known for the Air Unit that runs from nose to heel. Now Nike comes out with a new colorway that pays tribute to M. Frank Rudy. Marion Frank Rudy was an engineer at NASA in the 1980s and introduced Nike to the well-known Air cushioning system.

The Nike Air Max 97 'M. Frank Rudy' has a striking colorway. The sneaker combines the colors orange, dark blue and mint green. Dynamic overlays are placed all over the design. The upper colors mint green and is made of mesh. The mudguard also shares this color and is set in suede.

'Est. 1997' is printed on the midsole. This hints at the year the Air Max 97 was introduced. A Nike air gauge tag is attached to the lace-up, giving a twist to the theme of the sneaker. The Swoosh is set on the center panel and colors black here.
