Asphaltgold and PUMA continue their Palermo story with the 'Sedia' colorway

Asphaltgold and PUMA continue their Palermo story with the 'Sedia' colorway

We recently saw the release of the Asphaltgold x PUMA Palermo 'Scopa,' a sneaker that paid tribute to the Italian card game Scopa. Now we see a continuation of the collaboration. The Asphaltgold x PUMA Palermo 'Sedia' refers to the table on which the game of Scopa is played.

The word “Sedia” means “chair” in Dutch, but this translation does not do the term justice. The Italian saying “Aggiungi un posto a tavola, che c'è un amico in più,” which comes from a popular children's song from the 1970s, may be familiar to people of Italian descent.

The saying sounds like this in its English: “Add a seat to the table, there will be an extra friend,” a lyric that hints at the hospitality of the Italians. This mentality has also been brought back to the Asphaltgold x PUMA Palermo 'Sedia' release.

The sneaker is inspired by the look of the chairs. The upper comes with ribbed details that hint at the monobloc chairs. A garden chair image is placed on the heels and insoles. The sneaker has a white, canvas upper and uses the materials suede and leather on the upper.

Green details complete the sneaker. The Italian saying appears under the semi-loose tabs that adorn the sides of the shoe.

The Asphaltgold x Puma Palermo 'Sedia' drops on June 8, 2024, exclusively at Asphaltgold. Check out the images of the sneaker below. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for more posts like this one.
