The Air Jordan 5 celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2025 with a series of retro releases. The first half of 2025 kicked off with the ‘Black Metallic Reimagined’, and soon, we can also expect the ‘Grape’.
Yet it may be the rerelease of the ‘Fire Red’ that fans are most excited about.
The first rumors about the comeback of the Air Jordan 5 OG ‘Fire Red’ started circulating at the end of 2024. Now, as we approach the fall, the release of this highly anticipated sneaker is finally coming. The classic colorway combines white, red, and black with a striking black tongue and red Jumpman logo – a direct nod to the original 1990 release.
Since its debut in 1990, the 'Fire Red' has received multiple rereleases. The colorway comes in two variants: one with a black tongue and one with a silver tongue. In 2013, the OG colorway with a black tongue was last on shelves, followed by the silver-tongue version in 2020.
Now, over 12 years after its last release, the sneaker is finally making its return. The Air Jordan 5 OG ‘Fire Red’ will drop on September 13, 2025, via Nike and selected retailers.
Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers release calendar for updates on this drop.
