Williams' style has had a big influence on today's streetwear and this is reflected in the adidas sneakers. The rapper brings a lot of bright and cheerful colours into his models.
In 2014, adidas announced its collaboration with Williams. The two released the 'Solid Pack' this same year. In this collection, the 'Stan Smith' model received different colorways. The sneakers retained their classic silhouette, and were dipped in different bright colours.
One year later, adidas and Williams released the 'Superstar Supercolor' pack. With this pack, the Superstar got 50 different colorways. Remarkable about this pack is that all the sneakers have the same colour from head to toe. Also in this collaboration, the bright colours are back.
On 23 July 2016, the two names released the adidas NMD 'Human Race' collection. This collection consisted of different colorways of the NMD and were the words 'Human Race' printed on the upper of the shoe. With this, the artist wanted to give the models a positive message. This collection also had the characteristic cheerful colours that Pharrell Williams is known for.
After the 'Human Race' collection, the artist released multiple colorways of the NMD. In 2017, Pharrell came out with the first adidas 'Tennis Hu' sneaker. In doing so, he gave the classic 'Stan Smith' model a sporty makeover and the silhouette came in two colorways. The 'Tennis Hu' has been a very popular model since 2017 and the successful collaboration between adidas and Pharrell will continue in the future.
Pharrell's 'Tennis Hu' sneakers are available from adidas. There will also be an NMD released in 2021 that celebrates the anniversary of N.E.R.D.'s debut album. Another NMD Hu in 2021 in collaboration with Billionaires Boys Club, Pharrell's streetwear brand.
