In March 2026, a heavy-hitting collaboration is set to drop as adidas Originals joins forces with Young Thug’s disruptive streetwear label, SP5DER. Taking the classic adidas Superstar to new heights, the duo introduces the SP5DER x adidas Superstar Supermodified, a punk-inspired reimagining of a court classic.
Founded in 2019, SP5DER has quickly become a cultural powerhouse, blending Atlanta’s energy with a luxury-meets-punk aesthetic.
For their first-ever global partnership with the Three Stripes, the brand has selected the Supermodified silhouette: a chunkier, maybe more aggressive version of the Superstar that perfectly fits SP5DER’s "more is more" philosophy.
Disruptive Design: Patent Leather & Spider Webs
The SP5DER x adidas Superstar Supermodified will be available in a 'Core Black' as well as a 'Red' colorway.
The drop isn't just about footwear. It also includes a puff-print “I Love Sp5der” graphic T-shirt. In a nod to the partnership, the classic adidas Trefoil logo replaces the heart in the design, available in both black and white.
The SP5DER x adidas Superstar Supermodified is far from your average shell-toe design. The upper is crafted from premium patent leather, featuring an intricate debossed spider web pattern that covers the side panels. To elevate the futuristic look even more, metallic accents hit the heel. Furthermore, a laser-engraved spider keychain adds a signature collector’s touch to every pair.
One of the most striking changes is the treatment of the Three Stripes. On this model, the stripes are bolder, distressed, and pushed further up towards the forefoot, giving the sneaker a sense of constant motion and a "fat" skate-style aesthetic.
The collaboration debuts in:
'Core Black' (KJ7005): A sleek, monochromatic look featuring tonal black stripes, perfect for those who want the texture of the spider web to do the talking.
'Red' (KJ7021): A high-contrast version with black stripes that leans into the classic SP5DER colour palette.
Both pairs arrive in special corrugated boxes and come stuffed with multiple sets of thick laces. The Black pair includes Solar Green, Sp5der Pink, and Sp5der Yellow laces, while the Red version offers White, Sp5der Yellow, and Sp5der Pink options.
Release info
The SP5DER x adidas Superstar Supermodified will officially launch on March 3, 2026. Following a limited pre-launch via KINGSPIDER.CO on February 27, the global release will hit the adidas CONFIRMED app and selected retailers.
