The Nike Air Max 95 continues to impress. After several collaborations, OG colorways, and hybrid silhouettes, we now get the first look at the Air Max 95 Zip; a classic from the 2000s. A mix between the Air Max SNDR and the beloved sole of the Air Max 95. In my opinion, even better than the SNDR.
Nike is having a nostalgic year. Following the comebacks of silhouettes like the Total 90 and the Air Max Plus VII, the next model to return is the Air Max 95 Zip, also known as the Air Max 95 ‘Z’ when it first debuted in 2001.
It’s a striking model, where the signature wavy overlays of Sergio Lozano’s iconic design are hidden beneath a zip-up shroud reminiscent of the Air Max SNDR. In 2025, the silhouette will hit shelves once again, this time with suede elements instead of leather.
Two colorways of the model will be released: a classic Triple Black version and a Navy colorway. The 'Triple Black' comes dressed in black from toe to heel (including the Air units). The pair uses soft suede on the wavy overlays above the sole. The section covering the lacing system is made of smooth suede.
The Navy colorway uses the same materials and design elements but adds bright pink details and a burgundy midsole. A contrasting colorway that quietly reminds me of the recent Kids of Immigrants release.
