Nike will soon be releasing new designs for their 'Evolutions of Icons' series! With this series, the Swoosh Brand wants to bring back a bit of nostalgia with classic models to celebrate their history. In terms of design, this means that there are often special colourways, details or materials on one of the sneakers that pay homage to the past.
On 4 March 2021, three different sneakers will be released, which we present to you here among other things. But there are also members of the Nike 'Evolution of Icons' that are already available and some that will be released later in the year! Of course, you don't have to remember that, because that's what we're here for! So let's go: Nike and the 'Evolution of Icons' at a glance!
Nike Air Max 2090 'Evolution of Icons' | DA9357-100
The Air Max 2090 EOI is already available and takes its inspiration from subtle details in the legendary Air Max family tree, reminiscent of models like Air Max 90, Air Max 180 and Air Max BW.
This hybrid with a slightly different design is an absolute eye-catcher and, as we now know, carries the story of many legends!
Nike Air Max Zephyr 'Evolution of Icons' | CV8834-001
The Nike Air Max Zephyr is the newest member of the Air Max family and already it has an EOI look. It celebrates the journey of the Air Max and mixes graphics, materials and colours from other icons - Nike. We can't say it better than that!
Moving on now with 'Nike Evolution of Icons' releases to look forward to:
As a reminder, these sneakers will be released on Thursday 4 March 2021. Our release calendar will keep you up to date with all retailers and possible raffles here.
Nike Air Max 90 'Evolution of Icons' | DA5562-001
The Nike Air Max 90 can't be missing from any series, so of course the historic model also gets an 'Evolution of Icons' look. This style will be released in both men's and women's sizes.
The silhouette remains the same and comes with the OG materials. In addition, we see many colours that allude to the special colourways that we have already seen on an Air Max over time.
Nike Air Max 97 'EOI' | DA8857-001
The Nike Air Max 97 is another iconic sneaker. The shoe has a unique ribbed upper inspired by Japanese high-speed trains. For the 'Evolution of Icons' series, Nike has coloured the dynamic design in dark grey, reminiscent of the OG.
The special feature here: The logo on the tongue and the 'Air Bubbles' in the sole have been given a colourful look. The AM97 will also be released in men's and women's sizes.
Nike Air Max Plus 'EOI' | DA5561-001
Finally, the Nike Air Max Plus completes the series. The shoe is almost completely black. However, the middle part of the sole is white, which highlights the colourful rainbow that has also been placed here as a highlight.
So the bright colours are not missing here either. The Swoosh comes in a bright yellow/green colour and there are colourful accents used around the laces. Again, we see the colourful branding on the toe that makes up this Evolution of Icons pack!
Finally, here are two models for which we cannot yet announce an exact release date. But let's get to the new styles:
Nike Air VaporMax EVO 'Evolution of Icons' | DC9113-100
The VaporMax Evo silhouette was recently released. The design creatively features a lot of details inspired by classic models such as the Air Max 90, Air Max 93 and Air Max Plus. The list of models here is long though, as many special Air Max sneakers have been immortalised in the design. In this article, we show you that in detail.
A special sneaker, without question, whose design elements become very clear in this colourway.
Nike Air Max 270 'Evolution Of Icons' | DJ5856-100
The Nike Air Max 270 is a current Air Max model and therefore doesn't have too much history to offer. But even in this short time, it has already established itself as a modern classic from the brand.
The new 'Evolution of Icons' colourway celebrates some of the silhouette's predecessors from 1993 to 1996. Can you tell which ones? In our sneaker news we also put these looks in the spotlight for you before the release.
