The Mercedes-Benz adidas Samba is official. To mark the carmaker's 140th anniversary, the Samba OG gets a limited edition in Magic Beige, Grey Five and Black. According to the press release, you can order the Mercedes-Benz adidas Samba from 13 October, online and at selected adidas stores.

The design takes its cue from the S-Class interior. A diamond stitch pattern runs across the upper, a nod to the quilted seats of the luxury saloon. Every colorway is tonal from top to bottom. Calm, but with character. A notable step for a model that started life as a football boot for frozen pitches.
The familiar three-pointed star sits on the tongue. Early images also show metal Mercedes-Benz plates along the Three Stripes, in place of the usual Samba branding, plus visible stitching around the heel. The press release doesn't say which materials are used. It appears to be leather combined with a structured textile.

From the circuit to the showroom
The Samba OG kicks off a broader strategic partnership between the two German brands. adidas already partners with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, but this release is all about Mercedes-Benz itself. The anniversary year is being celebrated with a world tour of three S-Class cars, which also stops at adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach on 13 October.

A European retail price hasn't been confirmed yet, and the number of pairs is unknown. Both brands do present the Mercedes-Benz adidas Samba explicitly as a limited edition.
