adidas Originals x ASOS is back with Collection 05. The fifth collection from the partnership focuses on modern menswear with sporting roots. From 16 October, adidas Originals x ASOS goes live worldwide, with prices ranging from €66 to €192.
Members of the ASOS.WORLD loyalty programme get access a day earlier, on 15 October. The collection was designed in-house at ASOS through an adidas Originals lens. Stylist and creative Marcus Pancho is involved once again.
Autumn sets the tone. Think oversized nylon outerwear with high funnel necks, a nylon puffer with exaggerated proportions and a protective collar, and heavyweight borg pieces. You will also find textured knitwear, brushed jumpers and track jackets with the familiar 3-Stripes.
Classics get a twist
The tracksuit plays a leading role. There is a version with floral embroidery and a reworked argyle take. The grey herringbone track jacket and matching track pants, together with a brown puffer jacket, are the hero pieces. Wide-fit trousers and utility silhouettes round things off, with Trefoil and 3-Stripes accents throughout.
According to Vanessa Spence, Executive Vice President Brand and Creative at ASOS, menswear is becoming less about following one particular look. Collection 05 from adidas Originals x ASOS blends the brand's sporting heritage with relaxed tailoring, richer textures and more expressive styling.
Heading to Paris? From 16 to 19 October, there is a pop-up at the adidas store on the Champs-Élysées. Earlier this year, a pop-up at the adidas flagship on Oxford Street in London drew a crowd: all core styles sold out there. Sizes run from XS to 2XL.
