Featuring individual cushion pods referred to as ‘cloud elements’ on its outsole, CloudTec by On is a revolutionary cushioning technology.
As you push off, the elements become a stable platform for a powerful toe-off, resulting in a soft landing that reduces joint strain.
Cloud elements provide targeted cushioning upon impact, reducing joint strain.
In addition to improving comfort, responsiveness, and overall running performance, the lightweight, adaptive technology gives you the feeling that you're on clouds while running.
CleanCloud
Using high-performance materials made from carbon emissions, CleanCloud is helping On to move away from fossil-based materials.
By converting carbon emissions into liquid ethanol and then dehydrating it to become ethylene gas, and polymerizing that to create EVA pellets, CleanCloud can use this EVA to engineer high-performance foam cushioning for On's running shoes.
While not available for purchase yet, On have managed to create the first ever CleanCloud shoe using this method: the Cloudprime. It combines a polyester-based textile upper with a 40% bio-based castor bean speedboard, CloudTec in a CleanCloud EVA foam midsole, and a 35% upcycled TPU outsole.

2010
In Switzerland, On is founded by Olivier Bernhard, David Allemann, and Caspar Coppetti in order to provide a shoe that provided cushioning and a natural sensation.
With CloudTec® cushioning and cloud pods on the outsole, the Cloudsurfer is the first model from On.
2015
On introduces the Cloudrunner, a shoe designed for long-distance running and endurance training.
2017
On releases its first trail shoe, the Cloudventure. The waterproof upper offers enhanced support on off-road runs thanks to its improved outsole durability and traction.
2018
For runners looking for stability, comfort, and support, On releases Cloudace.
On also launches its "Roger" collection in collaboration with tennis legend Roger Federer, combining tennis-inspired design with innovative technology.
2020
On's first-ever track team, OAC (On Athletics Club), is formed of eleven athletes on a quest to become champions. Led by three-time US Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein, the team begins training hard to achieve their dreams at a full-time training facility located in Boulder, Colorado.
On Today
The company's in-house research facility, OnLab, strives to meet sustainability goals while producing shoes with the smallest carbon footprint possible.
In addition to positively impacting the athletic world with their designs, they also maintain a social responsibility by using fossil-free materials and circular business models.
Additionally On's social impact program, Right To Run, supports community-based organisations that aim to get people moving and feel confident and safe. The program provides event support, volunteer assistance, long-term partnerships and more.
