Introducing the adidas Rivalry

The Rivalry silhouette was introduced in 1986 in both High and Low versions. The model was built primarily for basketball. At the time, adidas was already a well-known basketball brand. Basketball players admired silhouettes such as the Superstar, Top Ten, Campus, and adidas Forum.

The adidas Rivalry was created by Jacques Chassaing. Chassaing developed several adidas models, including the Forum, ZX series, and EQT line.

Design of the adidas Rivalry

The Rivalry High and Low models are true to size. These adidas shoes modernise the traditional '80s basketball form with a low-top design. The smooth suede upper provides a quality style, while the delicate hues provide a soothing, natural atmosphere. French terry lining and an EVA midsole give all-day comfort, while the rubber cupsole adds durability.

The original Rivalry High and Low variations were available in a New York Knicks-inspired hue. The basketball squad, located in New York, was created in 1946 and immediately became one of the world's most well-known teams. In addition to Patrick Ewing, the Knicks included Willis Reed and Walter "Clyde" Frazier, famed for the PUMA Suede.
