One of the most eccentric collaborations is rumoured to be making a comeback: Cactus Plant Flea Market (CPFM) and Nike might finally be bringing back the Flea 1 silhouette in 2026! The model was already planned for a release in a 'Barley/Desert Moss' colorway a couple of years ago but was quietly cancelled due to sizing inconsistencies. So, will 2026 finally be the year of the release?
The Aesthetic: Unapologetically CPFM
Cactus Plant Flea Market and Nike have, of course, collaborated several times in the past, featuring the Swoosh on sneaker silhouettes such as the Nike Dunk and the Air Force 1, as well as on various apparel collections.
For those who remember the Nike CPFM Flea 1 ‘Overgrown’ release, you know CPFM doesn't do "subtle". When Cynthia Lu’s CPFM first released the Flea 1 silhouette, it sent shockwaves through the sneaker community. Was it a shoe? Was it a piece of moss? Was it art? The answer was simply: yes.
Now, after becoming a grail for collectors, the silhouette is set to return in at least two distinctive colourways for the Holiday 2026 season. The 2026 line-up is now expected to include a sleek 'Grey‘ (IU5238-001) version and a more earthy 'Desert Moss' (IU5238-700) pair.
While we are waiting for the final official images and information, rumour has it the signature DIY, deconstructed vibe will be front and centre again. Think oversized Swooshes, eccentric textures, and that chunky, desert-track-inspired midsole that looks like it’s been pulled straight from a botanical garden. It is a design that celebrates imperfection and creativity, which is basically the core DNA of Cactus Plant Flea Market.
