She's back. ASICS has just announced the return of the GEL-CUMULUS 16. The sneaker made its debut in 2014 and features one of ASICS’ most advanced technologies. Its comeback couldn’t come at a better time, especially in today’s Y2K sneaker landscape.
If there’s a brand that seems to have recently perfected the formula for flawless releases, it’s ASICS. From standout collaborations with names like Story Mfg., Cecilie Bahnsen, and the recent SHUSHU/TONG release, to bringing back old classics: every move is a hit.
The comeback of the ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 16 proves this once again. The sneaker debuted over a decade ago and has since served as the foundation for various ASICS models, including the GEL-NYC. Now, the full model returns in its original design, with upgraded materials and cushioning technology.
The sneaker is built with breathable mesh and TPU overlays across the silhouette. This combination of materials provides cushioning and comfort while offering a personalized fit. The shoe’s heritage as a performance running shoe is preserved thanks to its sculpted, wavy midsole design, dual GEL inserts, and FlyteFoam technology.
The ASICS GEL-CUMULUS is currently available at ASICS in various colorways. Check out the collection here.
