This year, 2022, marked the 35th birthday of the legendary Air Max 1 silhouette designed by Tinker Hatfield. To celebrate this anniversary, Nike released many different designs and colorways of the AM1 this year. Below we sum up some of the hottest releases of 2022. Nike Air Max 1 Travis Scott Cactus Jack Baroque Brown
We start off our list with some heat! Every shoe Travis Scott touches is an instant fan favourite, the Nike Air Max 1 Travis Scott Cactus Jack Baroque Brown is no exception either. With the use of different shades of brown and sail, this AM1 has a very neutral feeling which makes it perfect for autumn months. And the famous reverse Swoosh makes it a classic Travis Scott collaboration.
Nike Air Max 1 WMNS Master Magma Orange
The next sneaker is one specifically for the ladies. The Air Max 1 Master Magma Orange is sometimes also called 'Patch Work' because of the many different materials used in the mudguard of the shoe. That's also what makes this shoe special. The upper of the shoe combines mesh and suede while the Swoosh and mudguards feature various materials in orange.
Nike Air Max 1 Kasina Won-Ang Grey
The Nike Air Max 1 Kasina Won-Ang Grey is the result of a collaboration between Nike and Kasina, a Sout-Korean boutique that celebrated its 25th anniversary. The name of the shoe comes from the tradition where newlywed couples in South Korea receive a carved wooden duck as a gift which is called a Won-Ang Duck.
The upper is made of teal premium tumbled leather with synthetic horse hair overlays. And instead of the typical Nike branding on the heel, the is an embroidered Won-Ang Duck. For further attention to detail, the Nike branding on the tongue and lace tag is in Korean.
Nike Air Max 1 Patta Waves White
As part of their very successful partnership between Nike and Patta, they released the Air Max 1 x Patta Waves White. This follows four previous colorways, the Monarch, Aqua, Maroon, and Black. The AM1 White Wave mixes white leather and blue-tinted mesh for the upper with a wavy mudguard. The midsole has a cream color. The tongue features dual branding from Nike and Patta.
Nike Air Max 1 Premium Blueprint
The next sneaker is the Nike Air Max 1 Premium Blueprint, released on Air Max Day 2022. This shoe came out as a North-American exclusive. It features nubuck, tumbled leather, and mesh upper in shades of light blue and white. The Swooshes feature a grid pattern just like the tongue beneath the branding. An embroidered globe and Nike Air branding on the heel complete the design.
Nike Air Max 1 Crepe Hemp (2022)
The Air Max 1 Crepe Hemp (2022) is a reiteration of the AM1 Premium Crepe from 2004. The new version is made of cream-colored hemp woven upper featuring brown suede mudguards and a tan overlay made of nubuck. The Swoosh comes in a mint green color with embroidered Nike Air branding on the heel.
Nike Air Max 1 Sail Ironstone
The Nike Air Max 1 Sail Ironstone is one of the latest AM1 offerings from Nike. This sneaker has a very minimalistic and classy look featuring neutral colors. The upper consists of smooth suede in Sail color mixed with dense mesh on the toe box. All the branding and the topmost eyelets are in Ironstone color. To complete the look, the midsole comes in Rattan color.
Nike Air Max 1 Travis Scott Cactus Jack Saturn Gold
And just as we started our list, we also finish it with some heat. The Nike Air Max 1 Travis Scott Cactus Jack Saturn Gold is the second colorway in the collaboration between Nike and Travis Scotts record label, Cactus Jack. This sneaker also features the classic reverse Swoosh but features a layered mesh upper with Durabuck overlays almost entirely colored yellow. It pays homage to outdoor exploration and the Nike ACG Pocket Knife hiking shoe.
