The foundation of the Nike Air Max 1 By You is solid. You can choose leather mudguards combined with a mesh toebox for that classic look that Air Max heads love. You also have the option to go with a leather toebox, but we know many of you aren't fans of creasing on the toe. It feels familiar, yet fresh. What makes these AM1 By You options extra interesting is the addition of the mini Swoosh. It’s a small detail, but it gives your design that extra bit of character.
What I personally love about Nike By You is how easily you can draw inspiration from existing colorways. You could go OG with 'University Red' or 'Game Royal,' but the real fun starts when you color outside the lines.
To show you what’s possible with the Nike Air Max 1 By You, we got to work ourselves. And honestly, we were heavily inspired by the upcoming Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Pink Pack’.

For the first colorway, inspired by the ‘Muslin & Shy Pink’, we went for a fresh, summery combination. We started with a white leather mudguard, followed by a mesh toebox in 'Pink Foam'. We executed the Swoosh in leather with a 'University Red' color, providing immediate contrast and a bit of "bite."
The midfoot overlay continues in Pink Foam leather, as does the tongue, keeping the whole design balanced. On the heel, we chose white leather featuring Nike Air Max branding in University Red. The midsole comes in a soft 'Sail' tint, while the rubber outsole throws it back to Pink Foam. White laces keep it clean, although you could easily swap them for Pink Foam if you want to lean more into that true Travis vibe. The finishing touch is a mini Swoosh in University Red.
The second colorway is based on the ‘Sail & Shy Pink’ and feels slightly more understated and clean. Here, we used a Sail base for the mudguard, heel overlay, and midsole. This immediately gives the sneaker a warm, vintage look.
For contrast, we combined a white mesh toebox with a white leather midfoot overlay. The Swoosh stands out in Pink Foam, as do the outsole and the branding on the heel. Sail laces keep it calm and in line with the rest of the design. Again, we opted for a mini Swoosh, this time in a subtle Sail colour.
Both colorways demonstrate just how strong the Nike Air Max 1 By You currently is. With the right inspiration, you can build something that easily rivals upcoming releases. Perhaps the most important reason to dive in now: there are currently no new Air Max 1 releases on the horizon.
