The Nike Air Max Plus Receives a Creative Twist in HOMECOMING Collab

Some collaborations just click instantly, and the HOMECOMING x Nike Air Max Plus might just be a perfect example. The TN silhouette has been a global favourite for years, boasting a loyal fanbase in every corner of the world. Now, a fresh perspective joins the line-up. Born from the HOMECOMING Festival in Lagos, this project is all about culture, identity, and self-expression. When you combine these two vibes, you get something far more significant than just another sneaker.

For 2026, Nike presents two striking colorways designed specifically for the festival. This doesn't feel like just another Air Max Plus release; it’s an execution with a story and a clear sense of purpose.

The Vision Behind HOMECOMING

The HOMECOMING Festival was founded in 2017 by Grace Ladoja in Lagos with one clear mission: to provide a dedicated stage for African creativity. What started as a cultural initiative has grown into an international festival where music, fashion, and sport collide, allowing the diaspora to reconnect with the continent.

It’s not just about the events; it’s about identity and ownership. This is exactly why the Nike Air Max Plus fits the narrative so perfectly. The TN has never been a "quiet" sneaker, and in this collaboration, it receives a story as powerful as its aesthetic.

A Fresh Update for the Nike Air Max Plus x HOMECOMING

For this collaboration, the Nike Air Max Plus hasn't been completely overhauled, but it has certainly been refined. The upper features a textured mesh that gives the shoe a distinct feel compared to the standard version. The iconic TPU cage sits slightly more prominently atop the design, giving the TN a stronger, more modern look.

The finish on the toe cap has also been updated with a rubber detail that provides extra contrast and a more rugged appearance. It remains recognisably an Air Max Plus, but with enough innovation to make it feel like a truly special release.

Two vibrant Colorways

The HOMECOMING x Nike Air Max Plus will be released in the colorways ‘Black’ and ‘Safety Orange’. They offer two completely different vibes, yet both carry the same energy.

The ‘Black’ pair opts for a dark base accented with hits of red and green. These colours pop without being overwhelming, giving the sneaker a powerful presence. It’s an execution that looks sleek from a distance but becomes increasingly interesting the closer you look.

The ‘Safety Orange’ pair takes the opposite approach. Here, visibility is everything. The bright orange upper, featuring warm tangerine tones, makes this the bolder of the two. This isn't a subtle sneaker; it’s a statement piece that captures the vibrant atmosphere of Lagos during the festival.

Release and Availability

The HOMECOMING x Nike Air Max Plus is expected to launch during the HOMECOMING Festival in Lagos, which takes place from 2 to 6 April 2026. The retail price will be £180 / €200.
