Last Saturday we were invited by adidas to put the adidas Adizero Dropset Pro to the test. No dry product presentation, but a real hybrid training session in a converted hall under the Go Full Hybrid banner, led by Santino (@santinotaren). The adidas Adizero Dropset Pro is built for exactly that kind of work: running and strength training in a single session.

Together with a group, mostly fitness creators, and the adidas team, we started with squats to warm up properly. Then it kicked off. Pushing, pulling, throwing, jumping and running: everything came by to load the shoe on every front. And we felt it. We alternated the running with strength, exactly the hybrid setup the shoe is made for. Despite our running background, the strength parts destroyed us completely. As we write this on Monday, we are still sore.

For the occasion we were kitted out in a full adidas outfit, with the white-orange colorway for the men and a pink version for the women.
There is a technical story behind it too. The adidas Adizero Dropset Pro combines a Lightstrike Pro midsole with energy rods for a smooth transition while running, while a thin 2.6 mm Adizero sockliner and a low stack keep you stable and close to the ground during strength work. The outsole with Continental rubber and the lightweight Lighttraxion system provide grip, wet or dry. The shoe dropped in June and costs 150 euros.

Our verdict after the training
The sneaker fit well, came true to size and is the perfect add-on to your workouts. Where another favorite of ours, the adidas Evo SL, is perfect for running but has a bit less stability, the Dropset and Evo SL are perfectly combined here so that you have stability both while running and during other exercises.
So for anyone who packs running and strength into one session, the adidas Adizero Dropset Pro is a logical choice. For pure running miles we still reach for our Evo SL.
