MCM x adidas has gained a third partner: together with FC Bayern's women's team, the two German brands are releasing a capsule collection. The MCM x adidas collection hits stores from 22 October.
It started this summer. In July, FC Bayern Women and MCM announced a long-term partnership, including a joint collection for the autumn. Both are from Munich, and MCM is celebrating an anniversary this year: the label was founded there in 1976.
The core of the capsule is an adidas tracksuit with MCM branding. Around it sit unisex and women's jerseys, track tops, track pants and shorts. Footwear is part of the collection too, but the model hasn't been revealed yet.
The leather goods are more concrete. The Ottomar weekend bag and the Stark backpack come in MCM's Cognac Visetos monogram, with the FC Bayern crest and cream leather trim. So brown and white, rather than the familiar Bayern red.
The standout piece is the special jersey. Leaked images show an off-white base with a subtle tone-on-tone MCM Visetos monogram. The round collar, sleeve cuffs, Three Stripes on the shoulders, Trefoil logo, club crest and Allianz sponsor are all done in cognac. Cognac-orange shorts complete the look. An official reveal of the jersey by adidas, MCM or FC Bayern is still to come.
Where and when to find it
After a launch event in Munich, the drop follows on 22 October. The MCM x adidas capsule will then be available at FC Bayern World in Munich, in adidas stores across Europe, in MCM stores and online at FC Bayern, adidas and MCM. The date hasn't been officially confirmed yet, and euro prices are still unknown.
