Update December 8, 2025 – Two weeks ago, we saw the first images of a new collaboration between JJJJound and New Balance, once again centered around the 990v3. Now, this release, titled “Mushroom”, has a release date, and it’s coming sooner than expected.
The “Mushroom” colorway has previously appeared on other New Balance silhouettes, such as the 993, 990v3, 992, and 991. The colorway is characterized by a subtle beige look with grey and black accents.
It’s a release that feels familiar, but applied to a silhouette that hasn’t received this colorway before. The upper is made of breathable mesh with premium suede overlays and a leather N-logo on the mid-panel.
Although many JJJJound x New Balance releases have been difficult to obtain in the past, this one will be different, though a bit of patience is still required. The new MADE in USA 990v4 'Mushroom' will be released as a pre-order on December 12, 2025, via JJJJound.
The planned shipping window is Fall 2026, and all orders are final. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates on this and other releases.

JJJJound and New Balance Are Yet Again Working on the 990v4
Original post November 19, 2025 - After the successful New Balance 990v3 ‘Olive’ release from 2022, JJJJound is once again bringing its subtle branding to this silhouette. This time in the famous ‘Mushroom’ colorway, which previously appeared on the 993. A release that many fans who missed out on earlier drops have been waiting for.
For now, not much is known about the release. JJJJound has just shared a first in-hand image of the sneaker with the caption “V4 Anyone?”.
So for now, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more information about the release. Looking at the rollout of previous JJJJound releases, we can expect more updates in the near future.
