After a successful first collaboration, adidas and the Los Angeles-based label Sporty & Rich are returning for a second round. The adidas x Sporty & Rich collection is centered on cutting through the chaos of life and will be released in May 2023.
What is Sporty & Rich
In 2015, the founder of Sporty & Rich, Emily Oberg, moved from Alberta to New York City to work at Complex magazine. While there, she began creating the Sporty & Rich concept: a magazine focused on vintage sportswear mixed with luxury. With no intention of actually turning it into a brand, Sporty & Rich naturally grew into what it is today.
In late 2022, adidas and Sporty & Rich first came together for a collab. Oberg's brand managed to put a vintage touch on classic adidas models, releasing a Samba OG, a Campus 80's, and a Stan Smith. Now in 2023, the two come back together for a second collaborative effort.

With the second round of this collab. Oberg brings vintage sportswear references across the entire collection, recreating some of adidas's archival silhouettes for the present day. Sporty & Rich brings out the Samba OG in three different colorways.
'Blue Rush', 'Cream White', and a 'White' Samba. While the latter sees the original black, white, and gum accents. The 'Cream White' edition has a tan leather base, accompanied by tonal suede mudguards, light blue Three Stripes branding, and marked heel tabs. The final colorway gets an inverted version of the previous colorway. All the colorways come with a custom pearl keyring and co-branded boxing.
Next to the Samba colorways, adidas and Sporty & Rich bring out a vintage-looking apparel collection. Branded tees in contrasting hues and dual-branded hits, V-neck sweaters, soccer jerseys, and nylon shorts bring a fresh look to classic silhouettes.
