In December 2015, adidas released the NMD R1 and the hype around the silhouette and the NMDs continued unabated. In the course of adidas' reorientation with, among other things, the Stan Smith, which was totally trendy at the time, the NMD also enjoyed great popularity. The shoe is inspired by the adidas archive. The combination of the classics 'Boston Super', 'Micropace' & 'Rising Star' brought the NMD R1 to light.

What's behind the adidas NMDs
The kicks were inspired by various models from the adidas archive, but have the latest technology built in. For example, the NMD was launched with Boost technology.
In the meantime, the successful NMD is available with different upper materials and the extension of the NMD R2 has already made it into the stores. Exciting collaborations with Pharrell Williams and new developments like the lace-less NMDs are also well-known.
