For those who have never been to the adidas Store on Kalverstraat in Amsterdam: you don’t know what you’re missing. Sneakerjagers’ Lotte and Mats stopped by to style the new adidas Adistar CNTRL 5, a sneaker from 2008 that has been given a fresh new look.

adidas Store Kalverstraat Amsterdam
In Amsterdam’s most famous shopping street, you’ll find an impressive adidas store since the end of 2022. Although the store is not officially labeled as a flagship store, it certainly meets the criteria. Spanning two floors and covering 850 m², the store offers the full shopping experience.
The ground floor showcases the men’s lifestyle collection, featuring popular adidas Originals items and a wall full of sneakers, from Superstars to EVO SL. The men’s section also includes an extensive football corner with jerseys from Ajax, Arsenal, and more, which can even be personalized in-store.
The first floor displays the women’s collection, with adidas Originals knits, sneakers, and accessories. It includes sub-labels such as Stella McCartney and a full sports section for a variety of workouts, from running to tennis, something for everyone.
From lifestyle to sports, the adidas Brand Store is an oasis in the busiest part of Amsterdam. Plenty of reasons to stop by.
adidas Adistar Control 5
The Adistar Control 5 is one of adidas’ current flagship models (and rightly so). Originally released in 2008, it now makes its long-awaited comeback in a Y2K-inspired era. With some modern updates, the Adistar CNTRL 5 is a hit.
The design, clearly inspired by 2000s running heritage, features sturdy mesh with synthetic overlays. Underfoot, you’ll find an EVA midsole plus Adiprene+ in the forefoot. The Three Stripes on the mid-panel complete the design.
A perfect reinterpretation of a classic sneaker, updated for today’s trends.
How to Style?
Sneakerjagers’ Lotte and Mats each received their own pair: Mats the OG 'Royal Blue' colorway, and Lotte a fresh 'White & Silver Metallic' colorway, to style for each other using their favorite items from the store. Lotte created an outfit for Mats, and vice versa.

Mats' Outfit
The first outfit, put together by Lotte, is for Mats. Starting from the bottom with the adidas Originals Denim Firebird in a gray wash, featuring the Three Stripes along the pant legs. Since Mats is a big football fan, a jersey couldn’t be missing.
Lotte chose the Arsenal jersey—not necessarily Mats’ favorite club, but because the design looked great. To complete the outfit, she added a sporty bomber jacket.
A pair of bright blue Adistar Control 5s on the feet, and voilà!

The outfit Mats put together for Lotte focuses on his favorite item from the adidas Originals collection: the Retro Remix Vest. Styled with the Adicolor Denim 3-Stripes track pants, an adidas Originals T-shirt, and a leather handbag, this outfit is a perfect winter fit.
