Nike and atmos Japan have revamped the Air Max 1 more often. Atmos is a streetwear and trainer boutique based in Tokyo. Most of the AM1s from this collaboration have an animal theme, including this one.

The atmos x Nike Air Max 1 'Elephant' was first released in 2007. The mudguard and collar have a special print, namely an elephant print. This print is in grey and black. The toebox is in white and the rest of the overlays are black, including the tongue. The branding and the leather Swoosh have been given a striking turquoise colour. In 2017, the AM1 'Elephant' was re-released in collaboration with atmos.
