Will the Nike Air Max 1 be added to the 'Evolution of Icons' Pack?

Last month Nike introduced a new pack: The Evolution of Icons, containing a few iconic Nike models. With this pack, the brand wants to celebrate the history and evolution of these models. Special new designs were developed, but one important model seems to be missing: the Air Max 1. There are rumours that at the end of this month, an AM1 will be added to the pack. But we will have to wait and see what it will look like.

Air Max 1

The Air Max 1 is indispensable to Nike history. The name says it all: the AM1 was the first model to have the so-called visible AIR Bubble. The AIR is visible in a small hole in the sole. The shoe was introduced in 1987 by Nike's famous designer Tinker Hatfield. Over the years, there have been countless variations on this model. The Air Max 1 is still one of Nike's most popular models, so the AM1 is hopefully going to be added to the 'Evolution of Icons' pack.

You may have missed it, but Nike announced last month that it was dropping three well-known models with a special colorway. In this drop of the Evolution of Icons, was the Air Max 90, Air Max 97 and Air Max Plus. Check out the models below:

The Nike Air Max 90 is a popular Nike model and has had numerous designs over the years. For the Evolution of Icons pack, the base has been kept clean. Furthermore, the sneaker has been given colourful details.

Air Max 97

A special design has also been dropped on the Nike Air Max 97. For this series, they have chosen to make the dynamic design of the AM97 dark grey. What's really special is that the 'Air Bubbles' have been given a colourful transition.

Air Max Plus

And now the darkest variant of the series, the black colorway of the Air Max Plus. Different colours have also been used on the details of this shoe. For example, the swoosh contains a bright yellow colour and colourful details are applied around the tongue and laces.

Two Other Models

Nike also announced that at least two more models will be added to the collection. These are the Air Max 270 and Air VaporMax, of which the first images have already been shared. Unfortunately, there are no exact release dates known yet for these sneakers, so we will have to wait and see!

It remains to be seen which design will be featured on the Air Max 1 'Evolution of Icons'. What we do already know is that the pair is likely to release on 26 March 2021 at 9AM for £150. Looking at the other models in the pack, we can expect colourful details.
