The Sneakerjagers podcast WEAR Your Sneakers is hosted by Pim Roggeveen and Lorenzo van Galen, the founders of WEAR. WEAR is an initiative committed to sustainability in the sneaker scene. With the initiative, Pim and Lorenzo want to give trainers a second life. WEAR offers refurbished kicks, cleaning services and second-hand clothing.
In the past few months, things have been going tremendously fast for WEAR. The men entered into collaborations with chains such as Bijenkorf and Bristol and partnered with Sellply in 2022. Recently, WEAR dropped its own clothing line called "F*ck New" and the initiative came out with its own magazine.
Pim and Lorenzo believe in a sustainable, cleaner and more inclusive economy. With WEAR's business model, they have taken a step in the right direction. In the next episode of the podcast WEAR Your Sneakers, they speak to none other than Iris Mateboer.
Iris Mateboer
Iris Mateboer, Marketing Manager NL & BE at Sellply, is no stranger to the guys at WEAR. In late 2022, WEAR teamed up with Sellply and the two companies launched an extensive collection of existing refurbished pre-loved trainers. The sneakers were sold on Sellply, a platform for second-hand items.
Sellply was founded in 2014. The platform focuses on second-hand clothes and was born from the idea of making it easy for everyone to live circularly. Sellply is the market leader in Sweden, but operates across Europe - including the Netherlands.
Iris Mateboer was appointed Marketing Manager at Sellpy in 2022 and she is mainly very active behind the scenes. In the next episode of the podcast series WEAR Your Sneakers, she talks to Lorenzo and Pim about changes in the fashion industry.
