At 17 years old, VEJA is still relatively new to the footwear industry. Nevertheless, the French brand has been able to position itself as a leader in the field of sustainable footwear in those years. Due to all this success, VEJA has now opened a sustainable flagship store in Berlin.
VEJA was founded in Paris in 2003 by Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillio. Although the shoes were designed here, this was not the place where the sneakers had the most success. The first city where the sustainable shoe brand was accepted widely was Berlin.
The flagship store in Berlin was designed by Berlin architect Gonzalez Haase. In the interior mainly natural materials are used, which fits nicely with VEJA's theme of sustainability. For example, the shoe racks are made of earth, oak and concrete.
Besides the men's, women's and kids' sneakers, you can also go to the VEJA shop in Berlin to have your kicks cleaned and repaired. Because as VEJA says: "The most ecological sneakers are the ones you already wear."
