Do you know the famous interior designer Sheila Bridges from New York, dear community? In America, her designs are going through the roof and she has already been voted 'America's Best Interior Designer' by CNN! One of her famous designs is the Harlem Toile de Jouy pattern and, you guessed it, that's what we see on the new Kicks. The French Toile can actually be translated as canvas. But it is also a word for this art style with the little pictures. Known in France since the early 1700 years, it turns the street style upside down today.
Visually, the collaborators used the white canvas upper of the legendary Converse Chuck High silhouette as a screen. Many individual artistic drawings, each telling its own little story, are drawn across the upper. The design should combine modern aspects of Harlem (New York) and the pastoral aesthetics of traditional patterns. The scenes on display are also intended to celebrate African American culture and to draw attention to prejudices.
Beautiful design, lots of art and an inspiring story. Add to that Union LA as a collaborator and you can hardly get more hype. The brand has just recently inspired us in collaboration with Air Jordan and the 4 sneakers went through the roof! We expect the same from this collaboration with Converse. We find the branding of Union LA as a patch in orange on the side of the Chucks. The artistic Union LA X Converse Chuck Taylor 'White' Sneakers have an orange outsole. Otherwise we get the typical good Converse High style with white outsole, white laces and of course the toe cap!
