Why So Sad? - a mission that works to improve people's mental health. The project was founded in 2017 by skateboarder John Rattray after his sister took her own life. Now the project is getting more support with the new sneaker designs.
Why So Sad? is not a charity event, but rather a platform for stories that approaches a serious topic through a light-hearted play with the language of skateboarding.
Nike SB
The SB Dunk with Why So Sad? has a base made of light blue leather. Over that we see overlays in a darker shade of blue that have been finished with eye-catching stitching. Red Nike SB tags and additional "Why So Sad?" labels show off the collab's branding. The mascot of the project is a bird of prey, whose cartoon is also featured on the shoe. The motif also returns on the printed insoles.
Further details are the question mark motifs on the suede heel tabs and the thick laces typical for Nike SB Dunks. The design is rounded off with a white midsole and a semi-transparent translucent outsole.
The Why So Sad? x Nike SB Dunk Low will be released on 10 November 2022 at 09:00 at Nike and various retailers. You can find all release info via the button.
