The Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 comes in three colourways

When I say Supreme and Nike, I'm sure I have your attention, dear community! The two giants have had numerous collaborations over the years, most of which have sold out within minutes. The designs of the collaboration have always been unique, often with bold colours and prints and have almost always made a statement. This is no different with their latest collaboration, which we want to introduce to you today! Rumour has it that the two brands have come up with a design for the Air Max 96.

Check out the first images of the Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 with us and let's find out what the rumours are about!

But before we start, a little #TheCrew background check.

Supreme: from small skate shop to streetwear giant

In 1994, Supreme opened a small skate shop in Manhattan, New York. The shop started out as a meeting place for skaters and local artists. But business quickly got so good that Supreme opened three more shops in Japan in 1998, followed by the second US location in Los Angeles in 2004. The LA shop was already twice as big as the one in New York and even had an indoor skate bowl.

The brand continued to grow and now has twelve locations around the world. Supreme has also had many collaborations with various artists, photographers and designers from clothing and footwear brands, including of course Nike and their skateboard sub-label Nike SB.

The legendary skate brand is now an integral part of the streetwear fashion scene.

The Air Max 96

A rather unknown Air Max look! The Nike Air Max 96 silhouette debuted, you guessed it, in 1996 and was designed by now-famous Nike designer Sergio Lozano, who became famous for the iconic Air Max 95 design he created the year before. For the AM96, he also drew inspiration from the Air Max 95. For example, Lozano left the sole almost unchanged and the small Swoosh on the heel also looks familiar, doesn't it?

Lozano was then inspired by the waves of the ocean for the striking upper. Currently, the silhouette is hardly ever seen on the streets. But the Air Max Triax 96 is a familiar look. You can find a selection of the latest colourways here.

So, enough with the history lesson and let's get down to the details, dear community! Here's what we know so far about the new Supreme x Nike Air Max collaboration:

The Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 is expected to be released in three different colourways. One of these colourways will probably be this dark blue design with a partially suede upper. Of course, the red details are immediately noticeable here. It also seems that these parts are transparent.

There are also urgent rumours about a black version that has also received these transparent parts. But it remains to be seen whether these designs we show you here will match the final versions of the sneakers.
