Japanese label nanamica teams up with PUMA for the first time, bringing a waterproof upper to the iconic Suede VTG. The two names come with two colorways of the sneaker, the 'Parisian Night' and 'Vintage Khaki'. The nanamica x PUMA Suede VTG GORE-TEX will drop on August 27, 2022.
nanamica, known as the brains behind The North Face Purple Label, is teaming up with PUMA for the first time. The Japanese brand has collaborated with brands such as New Balance and Reebok in the past and is known for its minimalist and timeless designs. This is also well reflected in the nanamica x PUMA Suede VTG GORE-TEX.
The beloved PUMA model has been given a GORE-TEX upper. GORE-TEX is a well-known material that has been used in several sneakers in the past. What makes GORE-TEX so special is that the material is waterproof but also breathable. This is also the case on the PUMA Suede VTG.
“For our first collaboration with nanamica we wanted to create something that would be instantly recognizable as a partnership between both brands,” Ayesha Atlee says, Head of Design Sportstyle Footwear voor PUMA. “We decided to leverage the PUMA Suede because of its timeless design, mixing it with nanamica’s neutral swatches and their signature use of GORE-TEX fabric was a must to accomplish our vision.”
The sneaker comes in two colorways, the 'Parisian Night' and 'Vintage Khaki'. Both colorways have a clean design and use suede throughout the upper. The GORE-TEX label is stitched on the lace-up. The nanamica logo appears on the tongue and insole. The sneaker is supported by a gum sole.
Both colorways of the nanamica x PUMA Suede VTG GORE-TEX will drop on August 27, 2022. Check out the official images of the sneakers below and keep an eye on our release calendar for the latest updates.
