The iconic 501 Levi's jeans model becomes circular

Levi's is now bringing us the first circular 501 jeans. The brand has always been known for its durable jeans, but now they are taking it to the next level. In order to take the next step towards an environmentally friendly circular economy, the iconic 501 model had to make an example:

The jeans are now made in such a way that they are perfectly recyclable and at the same time made from recycled materials. The label guarantees that the trousers will have a third life.

To implement this philosophy, existing materials were replaced with recyclable and more environmentally friendly ones. The denim is now made from an organic cotton and sustainable viscose blend. Bags, labels and yarns are also now made from cotton to facilitate recycling.

Levi's also strives to reduce its water consumption in production as much as possible. Usually, there will be 7000 liters of water used during the production of one pair of jeans. The brand sets an example with its Water Less process for dyeing fabrics. During this process there will be no chemicals released.

The denim brand hopes to set an example in the industry for more sustainable items that save resources but don't lose style and quality.

The circular 501 jeans are already available on the Levi's website.
