Earlier in 2022, it was announced that the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low would make its comeback. This sneaker first appeared in 2003 and only one pair was released during an auction. Proceeds from this exclusive pair went to charity. Now, some 20 years later, eBay is bringing back the classic colorway. The sneaker pays tribute to Sandy Bodecker.

The eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low makes its comeback after 20 years, paying tribute to Sandy Bodecker, "the godfather of Nike SB. Sandy Bodecker, Bodecker worked at Nike since the 1980s and designed the Nike SB line specifically for skaters like himself. With the SB line, he gave skaters a voice in the sneaker scene. Bodecker passed away in 2018, but his influence can still be seen everywhere in 2022.
Such is the case with the upcoming eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low. The sneaker sold in a 2003 auction for a whopping $30,000. Proceeds went to charity. This open-toed version will also be available via auction. From December 7 to 14, 2022, 10 copies of the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low will be auctioned off. All proceeds will go to the Bodecker Foundation in honor of Sandy Bodecker.
Also available during the eBay x Nike sneaker auction will be several classic Nike SB Dunks at the Skate 'Em Out Store in Portland. At issue here are several popular styles of the Nike SB Dunk that have been released over the past two decades. These classic colorways will be available again, reflecting eBay's wide selection of OG sneakers. The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 9 and 10, 2022.
“For us, it’s important because we want to honor Sandy and how important he was", Garry Thaniel, eBay’s GM sneakers, says. “I really do believe without Sandy you don’t have the iconic nature of what the eBay charity Dunk was when it was released in the mid-2000s.”
The auction for the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low went live on December 7, 2022. Bidding can be done through eBay. Click the button below to view the auctions.
