ASICS is coming out with a GEL-Lyte III this year, 2022, in collaboration with Sneaker Freaker and atmos. The 'Alley Cats' colorway is inspired by the boulevards of Sneaker Freaker and atmos's home cities, Melbourne and Tokyo.
The upper of this ASICS sneaker immediately steals the show. On the upper, suede, leather, mesh and a furry material are used. The colour scheme consists mainly of purple and grey shades. The toebox, nose and heel are made of suede and have a grey colour. In contrast, the middle panel, tongue and collar are in a striking purple colour. This colour also returns on the outline of the ASICS branding on the middle panel.
The recognizable ASICS lines are made of leather and are in white. Underneath these lines is a furry overlay in an off-white colour. On the midsole, the purple colour returns, but this time covered in white speckles. To make the outsole also stand out, some of this material is in bright green.
The atmos and Sneaker Freaker logos are embossed in the heel. In the hairy element above, ASICS' logo is embroidered in black.
