Nike has announced the release of a new model, the Air Max Pre-Day. What is special about this model is that it combines different materials and technologies from previous Nike sneakers. Are you curious which ones they are? Check out all the details of the Air Max Pre-Day below!
Air Max Pre-Day
The Air Max Pre-Day is a perfect blend of both old and contemporary Nike technologies. The shape of the upper resembles the Air Tailwind, which debuted in 1978 with the revolutionary Air Cushion Technology. However, the sole features the visible Air, something that was first applied to the Air Max 1 model.
The Air unit is the same that is used in the current Air Max 1s, Air Max 90s, Air Jordan IIIs, IVs, Vs and VIs. But there is one small difference: instead of the Air only being visible through a transparent hatch, the complete Air unit is now fully visible between the midsole and the outsole. The cushioning provided by the Air is therefore said to be even better on this model.
The fact that the model is also contemporary is reflected in the recycled materials that have been incorporated into the shoe. For example, at least 20% recycled materials have been used in the sneaker. The upper consists of 100% recycled polyester and the outsole of approximately 13% Nike Grind Rubber.
'Light Liquid Lime' | DD0338-300
For the first release of the model, a fresh colourway has been chosen. The light yellow and light green shades have been given the appropriate name: "Light Liquid Lime".
In order to bring more contrast to the design, black details have been chosen. The large, smooth swoosh on the side of the shoe is very striking. This dark colour is also applied to the sole, around the Air Unit. This makes the transparent Air Bubble stand out. The sole also sticks out a bit, so it is a bit longer than the upper. This is similar to the Sacai x Nike LD Waffle collab, where the sneakers also had a protruding sole. Finally, the white midsole, laces and tongue give the shoe a modern look.
