2021 is in sight and there is already quite a line-up ready for Jordan releases. Also this upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Volt'. On Saturday January 2nd 2021 we will see the first Air Jordan 1 High release and it's a lovely, striking colorway. The official images have come out, so we are going to take a closer look at the sneaker.
Jordan Brand announced their Spring 2021 line-up in mid-November, wich you can see here in detail. It featured three delicious Air Jordan 1 High colorways, including the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Volt'. The Air Jordan 3, 4 and 5 also appear in the line-up.
Looking at the past year, Jordan has had a successful year. Especially the Air Jordan 1 High 'Dark Mocha' release and the cooperation with J Balvin. Of course we should not forget the most hyped release of 2020, the cooperation between Dior x Air Jordan. All in all great releases have been released this year, so we are looking with great hope and pleasure to 2021 for even better releases.
Why is this upcoming Air Jordan 1 High actually called an "Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG"? That's because the model is processed in almost the same shaping and height as the legendary model from '85. Also the traditional 'Nike Air' logo on the tongue is the same. The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG model is seen as the most popular or one of the more popular models on the market. It appears in OG colourways as well as in new colourways.
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Volt'
Now it is time to take a closer look at the sneaker and we will start with the basics. It is made of leather in a white colour. Around the toe box we find black overlays that remind us of the 'Black Toe' colorway on the Air Jordan 1. If we focus a bit more on the rest we see neon-tinted overlays and details in the colours Volt and Gold. Jordan Brand also wants to give the sneaker a vintage look by yellowing the midsole, laces and tongue. A nice little detail is the 'Nike Air' patch on the tongue, which is flipped over. Underneath the yellowed midsole is a black rubber outsole to complete the design.
Saturday 2 January 2021 is the moment. At 9 a.m. the Air Jordan will release 1 Retro High OG via Nike SNKRS for a price of €150,-. It's all going to be much nicer because the sneaker comes in sizes not only for adults, but also for kids. These will cost €130,- and drop at the same time.
